With the Center approving six projects worth Rs 350 crore under the Sagarmala Scheme in the state, Odisha is set to see significant port-led infrastructure development, according to the Rajya Sabha. In response to a query by BJD MP Sasmit Patra in the House, Union Minister for Ports, Shipping, and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal disclosed this information. According to him, the initiatives are intended to boost economic activity in Odisha’s coastal areas, increase logistical infrastructure, and improve port connections.
