A memorial for the Coronavirus warrior will be set up at Bhubaneswar by the Odisha Government. Due to the COVID-19, many people have lost their lives while battling against this deadliest virus in the frontline.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced that a memorial in the State Capital City would be set up to honor those COVID warriors. The CM announced this while talking with the families of departed Covid warriors through video conference. While working in the frontline or while being on duty, many people risked their lives to save others, and as a result, they lost their own lives.
CM said, “We will never let their sacrifice go unnoticed. We will definitely win this battle against COVID19. 2020 was a testing year for humanity. Odisha bore the brunt of this pandemic as much as anywhere else in the globe. However, we could stand tall against all adversity because of the dedication and honesty of our lakhs of COVID warriors.”
By assuring the family members of the COVID warriors, CM stated that the state would pay tribute to the hundred-odd fallen COVID warriors and ensure that the families would never face any further problems.
PK Mohapatra, Additional Chief Secretary of Health Department who was also present, stated that out of 101 martyred COVID warriors, families of 96 warriors have already been paid an aid of 50 Lakh, and the rest of the families will be provided with the assistance within two days.
