Odisha Government to Invest Rs 2,000 Cr to Strengthen State’s Infrastructure Resistant to Disasters

Odisha’s chief minister, Naveen Patnaik, announced on Sunday that the state government will invest Rs 2,000 crores to fortify the state’s infrastructure that is resistant to natural disasters. On the occasion of the state’s Disaster Preparedness Day, Patnaik made the announcement.

The world has praised Odisha’s disaster management model for its exceptional level of readiness, quick response, and zero-casualty policy during emergencies. The Chief Minister vowed to “further bolster our disaster resilient infrastructure and readiness to protect every precious life” on Odisha Disaster Preparedness Day.

He went on to say that officials and representatives of the people, ranging from ward members to the Chief Minister, would receive disaster management training from the state government. He said that the Red Cross will be brought in to train at least ten residents of each village in the state in disaster management.
