Odisha Govt. Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment Dept. Welcomes 406 Officers

406 officials in all have joined the Agriculture & Farmers Empowerment Department of the state government today. 102 assistant agriculture engineers joined, compared to 261 assistant agriculture officers. 43 other representatives joined the Odisha State Seeds Corporation as well. In Lok Seva Bhawan’s state convention center, a Nijukti Parba event was held in the presence of the chief minister, Naveen Patnaik.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister remarked that the department will benefit greatly from this significant appointment made all at once. He said that his administration places a high premium on agriculture and related industries. The government has been working to empower farmers and steadily increase their revenue. By making contributions to the country’s public distribution system, we have gone a long way from being a state with a food deficit to becoming a net supplier of food. Crop production has increased significantly over time. He noted that several programs are in place to boost agricultural activities and product diversification.

He said that programs like KALIA and BALARAM have given farmers a sense of assurance and trust. Additionally, there is a renewed emphasis on farm mechanization to increase production and enable wise use of our limited natural resources. We are strongly encouraging local youngsters to engage in entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector as part of the Mukhya Mantri Krushi Udyog Yojana. A vital part of giving farmers high-quality seeds is played by the Odisha State Seeds Corporation. He suggested that the agency make sure farmers receive high-quality seeds at the appropriate time.
