Odisha Govt Approves Semicon, Other Key Projects Worth Rs 44200 Cr To Create 9K Jobs

Ten significant industrial projects totaling Rs 44,241.97 crore that might create 8,765 jobs in eight districts of the state were authorized by the Odisha government on Saturday. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi presided over the 44th meeting of the High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA), where the projects were approved.

“Odisha is refocusing its attention on modern, tech-driven businesses rather than traditional ones. We are increasing sophisticated manufacturing and renewable energy capability, opening doors for new firms, and speeding up our path to Samruddha Odisha by 2036 with these crucial HLCA clearances,” the Chief Minister stated.

The projects are spread throughout Khurda, Koraput, Malkangiri, Dhenkanal, Puri, Nayagarh, Kalahandi, and Deogarh and cover important industries such as Rare Earth Manufacturing, Semiconductor, Cement, Automobile & Auto-components, Telecom Infrastructure, and Power & Renewable Energy. “Our focus is not only on attracting investments but on ensuring their timely materialization,” the Chief Minister said, highlighting the significance of project execution and timely grounding. Construction and manufacturing must follow approvals in a timely manner. We are fortifying institutional systems to guarantee a smooth transition from intent to implementation via concerted work under the spirit of Team Odisha.

With an investment of Rs 4,620 crore, ASP Semicon Private Limited would build a Semiconductor Memory Chip Modules Plant in Khurda, strengthening Odisha’s developing electronics and semiconductor ecosystem and creating 2,500 job opportunities. Magnova Private Limited has suggested investing Rs 1,050 crore in Khurda to establish an integrated high-performance magnet manufacturing facility in the rare earth sector.

Bharat Forge Limited will invest Rs 3,000 crore in Dhenkanal to establish an Automotive, Aerospace & Defence Components Manufacturing Unit, further enhancing advanced manufacturing capabilities. This will create 1,000 job opportunities and establish Odisha as a destination for high-precision engineering.
