The Government of Odisha’s Higher Education Department has moved quickly to allay the worries of impacted students and their families in the aftermath of the recent terrible tragedy at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), a deemed-to-be institution in Bhubaneswar. To protect the safety, security, and academic welfare of students affected by the event, the department has set up a support desk that is open around-the-clock. Serious concerns have been raised by the untimely death of a student at the private institution and the university’s following activities.
The Higher Education Department has designated Director of Higher Education Kali Prasanna Mohapatra as the Help Desk Nodal Officer in order to handle these problems. Dr. Rajata Manasingh, the Deputy Director, and a group of nine employees will support him and run the help desk all day and all night. The assistance desk, which is currently up and running, attempts to assist students in returning safely to the school and to handle any concerns they may have about their academic interests and personal health. To provide simple access for parents and kids, the department has also included specific contact information for the assistance desk, including phone numbers and a WhatsApp number.
Contact Details of the Help Desk:
- Phone: 0674-2396550, 0674-2323401, 0674-2323402, 0674-2323403
- WhatsApp: 9124620605
For support with their early return to school or any other issues, the Higher Education Department has asked all impacted parents and students to contact the help desk. Additionally, the Help Desk will get in touch with students to help them with any personal health issues or to arrange for an early return. For an early return to the institution for their academic pursuits, all impacted students and their parents are asked to contact the Help Desk.
