The Odisha government spent Rs 1.24 crore in the fiscal year 2021-22 to provide financial assistance to students through the KALIA Scholarship.
In response to a question from BJD member from Khandapara Soumya Ranjan Patnaik in the Odisha Assembly today, Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain stated that the State government spent Rs 1.24 crore in the 2021-22 fiscal year to provide KALIA Scholarship to 765 students across the State.
Swain stated that financial assistance is provided to children of KALIA scheme beneficiaries in order for them to pursue higher education in Odisha’s government professional and technical institutions while also empowering their families.
He clarified that the KALIA scholarship will be available following the implementation of the State Common Scholarship Portal in the fiscal year 2021-22.
