The Odisha government has decided to open Government Degree (+3) colleges in the Arts Stream in 18 blocks of the State with effect from the academic session 2024 in order to ensure equity and promote higher education in previously unexplored blocks.
Arvind Agrawal, the commissioner-turned-secretary of the department of higher education, has ordered the collectors in these districts to give these colleges 10 acres of land within a 5-kilometer radius of the concered block headquarters. Until their own infrastructure is completed, the colleges will operate out of temporary spaces.
