Amid the spike in the covid-19 positive cases in the state, the state government has clamped lockdown in the entire state from 5th May 2021 to 05:00 AM of 19th May 2021.
Similarly Dhenkanal town wore a deserted look today as every shops and other establishments were closed except emergency services after 12 am.
The People were informed about the guidelines with the help of loud speakers. They were advised to stay indoors unless that necessary. Anyone violating the shutdown guidelines will be penalized according to the law.
Police force are deployed at several chowks and streets of the town to maintain the law and order, also at several places checking was on in full swing. As of 4th May 2021 the total number of positive cases of the district stands at 6514 while 5962 people have recovered so far and total active cases stands at 523.
The district also reported 90 fresh Covid-19 positive cases and as many as 29 people have succumbed to the deadly virus till now as report shared by the district administration.
