Odisha MLAs Visit Navy Warship On 50th Anniversary Of Indian Navy’s Victory Indo-Pakistan War In 1971

Around 100 MLAs with Odisha Assembly Speaker S N Patro visited the Indian Navy warship ‘INS Jalaswa’ where they spent about 6 hours.

All the 100 MLAs along with Rajashree Mallick, Jagatsinghpur MP were taken to the deep sea in the warship where they were there for about six hours.  They were informed about the operations of the Indian Navy which includes military tactics, rescue methods, food transportation, and other important aspects.

According to the officials, the MLAs were told about the various operation of the Indian Navy.  On the 50th Anniversary of the Indian Navy’s victory in the Indo-Pakistan war in 1971, the expedition was organized. The Indian Navy invited all the members of the Odisha Legislative Assembly. The Indian Navy also invited Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Odisha Assembly Speaker S N Patro also expressed his experience and thanked the Indian Navy for proving such an opportunity. Along with them he also thanked the Navy’s Eastern Naval Commander on behalf of the Assembly and the Chief Minister. He even presented a memento which was made of silver ‘Boat Boit’ to the Indian Navy.

The PIB in Odisha’s official Twitter account tweeted- “ Members of the Odisha Legislative Assembly took part in “A Day-at-Sea” program conducted on board ships of the Eastern Fleet of @indiannavy at Paradip on 22nd December 2020. It was organized as part of celebrating 50 Glorious Years of the victory of 1971 Indo-Pak War.”
