The State reported a Gross GST collection of Rs 4397.73 Cr in May 2023 compared to Rs 3955.75 Cr during the same month last year, representing an increase of 11.17%. The cumulative Gross GST revenue as of May 23 is Rs 9433.47 Cr, up from Rs 8865.98 Cr as of May 22, representing a growth rate of 6.40%.
In addition, May’23 saw a surge of 30.28% in the amount of money collected for the State to keep, which includes the settlement of OGST and IGST, from May’22, when it collected Rs. 1286.29 Cr. The progressive collection (OGST + IGST Settlement) that the State will keep till May 23 is Rs 4034.94 Cr, up from Rs 2966.29 Cr until May 22, a 36.03% increase in collection.
With a growth rate of 17.27%, the total amount collected under all of the Acts supervised by the Commissionerate of CT & GST, Odisha, including GST, VAT, entry tax, and profession tax, was Rs 2711.04 Cr in May 23 as opposed to Rs 2311.78 Cr in May 22. The number of waybills created in May 2023 was 20.40 lakh compared to 17.26 lakh in May 2022, an increase of 18.19%, which reflects the strength of the economy.
