The “Legendary Humanitarian Award” has been given to Achyuta Samanta, the founder of the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) and the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS). During a ceremony conducted at Raj Bhavan to celebrate the success of the ‘Art of Giving’ (AOG) campaign and its 10th Anniversary celebration, Governor of Odisha Ganeshi Lal presented Samanta with the coveted award.
To honor Samanta for his contributions to society and humanitarian work, the “Odisha Sachetana Nagarika Forum” and “Sanskruti O Sanskruti” organized the special program. In the presence of various intellectuals as well as representatives from the Odisha Sachetana Nagarika Forum and “Sanskruti O Sanskruti,” Samanta accepted the prize.
Samanta launched the Art of Giving campaign on May 17, 2013, it should be emphasized. Since then, May 17 has become International Art of Giving Day, which is observed across the globe with various themes. The AOG’s creative idea aims to propagate a message of collaboration, joy, peace, and harmony throughout the world. ‘Helping the Help’ served as the theme of this year’s AOG. The Day is dedicated to AOG’s supporters, admirers, and followers in 350 places throughout 20 nations and six continents. In addition, AOG supporters and well-wishers marked the day in 3500 sites throughout 29 states, 4 UTIs, and 200 Indian cities and villages.
