The country has 1716 cases, death toll rises to 50
Odisha’s(Odisha records fourth Covid-19 case amid mounting concerns) intense efforts to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus got a jolt with the fourth positive case being detected in the state. The infected person is a 29-year-old youth hailing from Bhadrak and with travel history to Dubai.
Nationwide, the count of positive cases for Coronavirus(Odisha records fourth Covid-19 case amid mounting concerns) has mounted to 1761 till the latest reports streamed in. Whilst 150 patients have recovered, 1516 others are still under observation and treatment.
The casualty toll has risen to 50. At 325, Maharashtra has the most number of Covid-19 positive cases followed by Kerala (241), Tamil Nadu (124) and Delhi (121).
As of now, Odisha has three Covid-19 testing facilities at SCB Medical College, Cuttack, Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) and All Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
Plans are afoot to equip the two other state-run medical colleges cum hospitals at Burla and Berhampur for detecting Coronavirus(Odisha records fourth Covid-19 case amid mounting concerns) infections.
The state authorities are providing cooked food at gram panchayats and urban areas to destitute and helpless people. Besides this, workers from other states stranded in Odisha have been provided with shelter and food.
Till now, 19838 workers have been taken care of in 276 temporary camps. A 24-hour helpline- 18003456703 is functioning to facilitate these people.
That apart, 377 quarantine centres have been identified with 32538 beds in 114 local bodies across the state. The government has directed taking stringent action against the misuse of ambulance.
As of March 31, the state police have registered 209 cases for violations of regulations and guidelines related to Covid-19. This includes 198 cases for violation of lockdown orders and nine cases for other issues.
As many as 473 blood samples have been tested of suspected Covid-19 cases and 57 are under hospital isolation.
