Odisha Records Highest-Ever Gross GST Collection During April ‘23

The State collected Rs. 5035.74 Cr in gross GST for April 2023, making it the largest gross GST collection ever. Additionally, April ’23 saw a growth of 40.43% in the collection of Rs. 2359.17 Cr compared to Rs. 1680.00 Cr in April 2022 for the collection to be retained by the State, which includes OGST and IGST settlement.

The services sector’s expansion and the trading sector’s expansion are the main drivers of this increase. Petroleum products and alcoholic beverages for human consumption bring in a combined total of Rs. 264.42 Cr. in April 2023 compared to Rs. 232.92 Cr. in April 2022, a growth rate of 13.52%.

The total amount collected under all Acts regulated by the Commissionerate of CT & GST, Odisha, including GST, VAT, entry tax, and profession tax, was Rs. 2661.92 Cr. in April ’23 as opposed to Rs. 1947.21 Cr. in April ’22, representing a 36.70% increase. 20.23 lakh waybills were produced in April 2023 compared to 17.57 lakh waybills produced in April 2022, an increase of 15.12% that reflects the health of the economy.
