Odisha; Sizzle Under Scorching Heat Waved, Seems No Relief For Long

Due to prevailing Northwesterly/Westerly dry air and high solar isolation maximum temperature (Day Temperature) remained above 40 degrees in several places across Odisha on Saturday.

The maximum temperatures will remain above normal by 3 to 5°C at a few places during next 24 hours and slight fall in day temperature is expected from Sunday onwards, the IMD stated.

“People are advised to take precautionary measures while going outside during day time between 11 am to 3 pm.”

Till 1:30 pm on Saturday, Baripada recorded the highest 44°C, followed by Jharsuguda at 42.8°C and Talcher 42.6°C.

Similarly, Boudh (42.5°C), Titilagarh (42.5°C), Sambalpur (42.2°C), Bolangir (42.2°C), Angul (42.1°C), Sonepur (42.1°C), and Sundergarh (42.0°C) recorded temperatures of 42 degrees or more.
