The Odisha government has confirmed its participation in the Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC) 2025, scheduled to take place on October 30 and 31 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. This landmark conference aims to elevate India’s status in the global rice industry and provide a platform for stakeholders to discuss the latest trends and innovations in the sector.
The Odisha government has confirmed that it will be attending the Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC) 2025, which is scheduled for October 30 and 31 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Enhancing India’s position in the global rice market and providing a venue for industry players to discuss the latest advancements and trends are the goals of this historic conference.
As part of its engagement, the state will contribute to the Coffee Table Book on Indian Rice and co-author the Vision and Roadmap for the Rice Sector’s Contribution to Viksit Bharat @2047, a blueprint for inclusive and sustainable agricultural growth. The Odisha government views this partnership as an opportunity to connect with global stakeholders, attract investments in agri-processing, and ensure a stronger voice for its farmers in international markets. The conference is expected to bring together over 1,000 international buyers, 2,500 Indian exporters, 5,000 farmers, and more than 200 institutions, including research bodies, financial institutions, millers, logistics providers, and agri-tech innovators.
“This association is a landmark moment for the Indian rice sector and a strong endorsement of the crucial role cooperatives and grassroots institutions play in the agricultural economy,” said Prem Garg, National President of IREF and Chairman of the Shri Lal Mahal Group, who also thanked the Odisha government for its support.
