Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said today that the state’s tourism offerings will meet global standards. Odisha has identified 75 priority tourism destinations, which include beaches, bio-diversity zones, monuments, and religious and cultural sites, in order to develop and introduce niche tourism experiences. We focus on increasing investment and enterprising of niche segments such as house boat tourism, camping, heritage palace staying, and water based tourism to provide enriching tourism experiences.

He kicks off the fourth edition of the Odisha Travel Bazaar 2022 at a grand event hosted by the Odisha Tourism Department and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) in Bhubaneswar. Earlier in the day, Shri Ashwini Kumar Patra, Hon’ble Minister of Odia Language, Literature and Culture, Excise and Tourism, Govt. of Odisha, opened the Odisha Travel Bazar 2022 exhibition at Hotel Swosti Premium. On this occasion, he stated, “We are delighted that after a long period of inactivity, the Odisha Travel Bazaar has been organised, which will provide a platform for the exchange of ideas and interaction for domestic and foreign tourism stakeholders.”

“Odisha as a state has many things to offer for all tourists,” said Shri Surendra Kumar, Principal Secretary, Department of Tourism, Govt. of Odisha. We are almost certainly the only state in the country that has increased its forest cover over the last two decades. We have places and sites in the state that are unprecedented and unrivalled.”

The event will include a B2B meeting between the Odisha Tourism Fraternity (Sellers) and Domestic Tour Operators (DTOs) and Foreign Tour Operators (FTOs), as well as various FAM tours to state destinations such as Bhubaneswar, Konark, Puri, Chilika, Dhauli, Bhitarkanika, and Lalitgiri. A B2G meeting with investors and airlines is also on the agenda. Sellers also take part in the exhibition and display their wares.
