Odisha’s first Vande Bharat Express between Puri-Howrah likely to start from May 15

On May 15, the eagerly anticipated Howrah-Puri Vande Bharat Express is anticipated to depart from Puri. The South Eastern Railway has announced that the Vande Bharat Express’s debut run from Puri to Howrah is likely slated for May 15. The SRC/SER will do the bulk of the maintenance. According to the notification, CPTM/SER has not yet released information on the precise date, halt, and composition of the mentioned train.

The announcement read, “It has been decided that the HWH base ticket checking staff will man the Vande Bharat Express Train between HWH-Puri-HWH on an end-to-end basis.” Between Puri and Howrah, a semi-high-speed train will travel 500 kilometres in around 5 hours and 30 minutes. Nine stops are anticipated to be made by the Howrah-Puri Vande Bharat Express: Howrah, Haldia, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Khurda Road Junction, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, and Puri.

It is important to note that on April 28, the Vande Bharat Express made its maiden trial run from Howrah-Puri. The train left Howrah at 6:10 in the morning and arrived in Puri at midday, making two-minute stops along the way in Kharagpur, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, and Bhubaneswar.
