OKCL Celebrates 14 Years of Driving Digital Transformation in Odisha

BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Knowledge Corporation Limited (OKCL) marked its 14th foundation day with a vibrant celebration at its Bhubaneswar head office, bringing together management, staff, and stakeholders to reflect on its journey and chart the road ahead.

The programme opened with a series of short films created by various OKCL teams, showcasing inspiring success stories in digital literacy, teacher training, e-governance initiatives, digital content for schoolchildren, and women’s empowerment projects. The celebrations also featured a festive cake-cutting ceremony, led by OKCL’s Managing Director, Dr. Manoranjan Puthal, symbolizing unity and collective achievement.

In his keynote address, Dr. Puthal reflected on OKCL’s evolution since its inception on September 12, 2011. He commended the dedication of employees and partners while calling for renewed commitment to the organisation’s mission.

“We must redouble our efforts so that no citizen, in any corner of Odisha, is left behind in the digital revolution,” he urged.

Since its establishment as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) promoted by the Government of Odisha, OKCL has emerged as a key driver of technology-enabled education and governance. Over the last 14 years, the organisation has trained more than 3 lakh learners, built a network of 750+ learning centres across all districts, and empowered lakhs of students, teachers, and job seekers with essential digital skills.

Looking forward, OKCL plans to extend its footprint deeper into rural areas, scale up women’s empowerment initiatives, and enhance youth-oriented skill development programmes. The anniversary celebration served not just as a look back at past milestones but as a reaffirmation of OKCL’s vision — to build a truly digital Odisha where every citizen can learn, work, and thrive in the modern world.
