In the capital city of Odisha, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) stormed and seized the home of Archana Nag, a key suspect in the well-known honeytrap and extortion case, on Friday. Sources claim that the ED raided Nag’s three-story Satya Vihar home because of suspected financial irregularities that began in 2022.
Although her father and other family members were inside the house when the sleuths came, Nag was not there when the raid took place. According to officials, Nag had already received a notice telling her to leave the premises. Due to her noncompliance, the ED used Section 8(4) of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, to seize the premises.
In October 2022, Nag and her husband Jagabandhu Chand were arrested after a lady said they had taken pornographic pictures of her and coerced her into honeytrapping Odisha bureaucrats, politicians, and businesspeople. The ED initiated procedures under the PMLA after her detention, and Friday’s action is a component of that continuing investigation.
