Omicron Scare: Total Number Of Cases In India Surpass 1000

The infectious Omicron variant of COVID virus has turned from a potential threat to a large looming threat all over India. While a month ago, there were zero cases and a fortnight ago there were cases less than 100, since the last week or so there has been triple manifold of omicron cases in India. Not only that almost all the states and union territories of India have now been affected by the Omicron Variant.

As per the reports from the Health department today, the Omicron has surged itself in India with the tally of 1270 cases. Moreover, almost 23 states and Union territories of India are now infected with Omicron Variant of COVID virus. Therey many states have started with banning new year and 31st December parties while other states have already imposed partial lock down and night curfew.

Of the 1,270 Omicron-positive patients, 374 have been discharged.

The first Omicron-related death was reported from Pune on Thursday. Maharashtra reported the maximum cases in the last 24 hours, taking its Omicron tally to 450, while Delhi has reported 320 cases till date.
