On November 28, laser scanning of Ratna Bhandar at Jagannath Temple To begin

On November 28, the day after Kartik Purnima, laser scanning of Ratna Bhandar, the temple’s treasure trove, will commence, according to Chief Administrator Ranjan Kumar Das of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA). The day after Kartik Purnima, Das continued, laser scanning of Ratna Bhandar will begin due to the massive influx of devotees at the temple during the Kartik month.

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) officials have discussed the matter with the SJTA Chief Administrator, and they will perform the laser scanning at a predetermined time. According to Das, laser scanning of the Ratna Bhandar, a 12th-century shrine, will show any potential structural damage or cracks.

He said that laser scanning of the Ratna Bhandar’s outer walls will be followed by scanning of the temples of the Parswa devis and devatas (side deities), as well as the inner chamber, Bhitar Bhandar, if necessary. He added, “The laser scanning equipment has already been delivered, and the temple management will provide any assistance needed by the ASI to perform laser scanning of Ratna Bhandar.”
