The Odisha government will launch an online ticket booking facility for the Outpatient Department (OPD) services at the Cuttack SCB Medical College and Hospital from May 9. While the bookings of slots under the new system of ticketing will be launched on May 9, the patient consultancy will commence a day after from May 10.
According to the reports, the patients or their attendants will have to log in to www.eswasthya.odisha.gov.in and register their names to avail of tickets. People need to download the online ticket slip and get its photocopy for reference and entry into the hospital during OPD consultancy.
Once implemented, the new ticketing facility will help the premier hospital get rid of its pathetic gathering of patients and their attendants waiting in long queues for hours and scrambling to book tickets at the counters in large numbers. Major healthcare institutions in Odisha like the SCB, AIIMS and Berhampur MKCG have often hogged the limelight for such messy situations.
