OSL Provides Free Reading Glasses to Schoolchildren with Low Vision

Odisha Stevedores Limited (OSL) recently held an eye-testing camp at a local school on the outskirts of this premier port city in Odisha as part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) activities and distributed free spectacles to those students who were diagnosed with eye-sight defects.

The prescribed spectacles were distributed to the students of Balijhara Ganapati Sishu Vidya Mandir during a special programme organised for the pious purpose by the OSL.

While the eyes of 324 school students were examined by eye specialists, 32 students were found to have low vision defects. As a result, power glasses were prescribed, and the necessary spectacles were distributed free of charge to the identified students on the spot.

The special event was attended by Paradip Municipality Chairperson Basant Biswal, who distributed free spectacles to deserving students.

Among those who attended the special eye camp were OSL VP (HR) Mr Bijay Ketan Ojha, OSL ED (HR & IR) Mr Prafulla Kumar Panda, and OSL DGM (HR) Mr S.K. Patel.Smt. Gitanjali Tarai, the school principal, organised such an amazing event.

The locals applaud OSL for undertaking such an initiative for the promising citizens of our society and nation.OSL has pledged to implement such programmes in Odisha in phases in the near future.Notably, Orissa Stevedores Limited (OSL) is a well-known company in eastern India with expertise in shipping, mining, and in-plant operations.
