BHUBANESWAR: As of October 7, 2024, more than 1.20 crore women have registered under the Subhadra Yojana, marking a significant milestone for the scheme aimed at empowering women across the state. Deputy Chief Minister and Women & Child Development Minister Pravati Parida celebrated this achievement, noting that crossing the one-crore mark in beneficiaries is a major success for the initiative.
In a statement, Minister Parida said, “Registering more than one crore women beneficiaries under the epoch-making Subhadra Yojana is a big achievement, and today, this goal has been realized.”
In the next crucial step, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is scheduled to disburse the first installment of the scheme to over 35 lakh women during the second phase of the program on Wednesday, October 9. The event is set to take place in Baripada, where the much-anticipated funds will be distributed.
In the initial phase, the government conducted a transaction test by transferring Re 1 to the accounts of eligible beneficiaries, ensuring their bank accounts were active and capable of receiving funds. However, the department clarified that no such arrangement has been made for the second phase.
Amid rumours circulating on social media, the department has urged people to avoid being misled by fake news. Beneficiaries are encouraged to rely on official channels for updates. For accurate information, individuals can visit the official Subhadra Yojana website, follow official social media accounts, or call the toll-free number (14678).
The Subhadra Yojana continues to provide critical financial support to women across the state, and the upcoming disbursement on October 9 is expected to further enhance the scheme’s impact.
