The Vigilance department has arrested the Assistant Project Manager of the Orissa Water Supply and Sewerage Board (OWSSB) in Bhubaneswar for having excessive assets. Today, Debasis Sahoo will be brought before the Vigilance Court of Special Judge in Bhubaneswar.
Sahoo is the subject of a case filed under Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS case No.4/2025. Excessive assets were found during searches of his properties, including two stores and three multi-story buildings in a Jatni market complex, two valuable plots in Jatni, gold jewelry weighing almost 200 kg, deposits exceeding Rs. 56 lakhs, and cash totaling Rs. 1.57 lakhs.
Sahoo was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for these assets, leading to his arrest. The OWSSB is a nodal agency responsible for implementing projects related to urban sanitation in Odisha.
