Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has appealed to the international community not to repay the country’s debt until the end of the Corona epidemic. He also called for the forgiveness of Pakistan’s borrowers. “From the very beginning, the economy in the crown of Pakistan, which is in crisis, has been shattered,” he said.
According to the Dawn newspaper, Pakistan on Thursday presented a 10-point demand for immediate action at a special session of the United Nations General Assembly for Co-ordination. In the resolution, Pakistan stressed the need to meet the demands of the global community. In the first instance, he demanded that the debt be suspended until the end of the year.
Similarly, the second claim states that it is unable to repay the loan as it is a less developed country. Therefore, the loan application is forgiven. The other proposal also calls for a restructuring of the public sector debt of developing countries in the multilateral framework. The special session of the United Nations was held for the first time virtually with hundreds of world leaders and ministers in attendance. In the aftermath of World War, the Corona virus epidemic is said to be the most serious global crisis.
