Paradip Port Wins 1st Prize At Swachhata Pakhwada Awards

At the Swachhata Pakhwada Awards 2025, Paradip Port Authority (PPA) received the First Prize for its exceptional work in sustainability, cleanliness, and community involvement. The award was given out at a ceremony in New Delhi and was established by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW). Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, presented the award to P L Haranadh, Chairman of the Paradip Port Authority (PPA). The occasion was attended by MoPSW Secretary Vijay Kumar and State Minister Shantanu Thakur.

The Swachh Bharat Pakhwada Awards–2025 were given to a number of MoPSW organizations for their outstanding work during Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 and Swachhata Hi Sewa 2025, which were characterized by cleanliness campaigns, citizen engagement, advocacy, and Safai Mitra welfare, all of which promoted a more sustainable and clean workplace. This accomplishment is a proud milestone that demonstrates the port’s steadfast dedication to the principles of equitable development, environmental stewardship, and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Jan Bhagidari, Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, and Safai Mitra Suraksha are the three main pillars of Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 that Paradip Port successfully executed under the Ministry’s direction.

By organizing cleaning campaigns throughout schools, historical monuments, temples, beaches, ponds, and port grounds, PPA made sure that a sizable portion of the public participated in Jan Bhagidari. The idea that everyone is responsible for maintaining cleanliness was reaffirmed by events like cyclothons, Swachhata Raths, rallies, Swachhata Runs, human chains, and citizen-led initiatives like Ek Din Ek Ghanta Ek Saath.
