PDS Beneficiaries In Odisha To Get Monthly Ration From Jan ‘25

Beginning in January 2025, the public distribution system (PDS) in Odisha will offer monthly rations to the recipients of the food security scheme. The state government has instructed district collectors in every district to arrange for the removal of PDS rice from government godowns in order to accomplish this, according to a news statement. Lifting has been underway since this month’s sixth to fulfill the purpose. By Friday, the district collectors of Deogarh and Nabarangpur districts had lifted all of the rice designated for their areas for the previous 14 days. By today, PDS rice lifting will be finished in other districts.

Dealers in many parts of the state have started the distribution to beneficiaries at government fair price shops and dealer points to the beneficiaries and the process will be completed by 25th of this month.

The beneficiaries will receive a monthly ration in their best interests. The release of the monthly ration was decided upon at a recent meeting attended by the Minister for Food Supply and Consumer Welfare, Krushna Chandra Patra, Principal Secretary of the Department, Sanjay Kumar Singh, and other high-ranking officials. All District Collectors and District Chief Civil Supply Officers were advised to take the appropriate actions in order to implement this decision.
