Prior to travelling to the location of his upcoming wedding, Border Security Force jawan Chhotusinh Vaghela, whose wedding was slated for Monday, stopped by the voting location in the Duva hamlet in the Tharad constituency.Vaghela said in a statement to the local media: “Although I am on leave, I am stationed in West Bengal because today is the day of my wedding. But before the Baarat procession began, my family and I made the decision to vote. I prioritised voting because I believe it is my responsibility to preserve democracy in the same way that I am guarding the nation’s boundaries.”

Hiraba Modi, the mother of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, voted in Gandhinagar. Amrutaba, a 93-year-old voter in Ahmedabad’s Shilaj neighbourhood, was excited to cast her ballot. Samuben Prajapti, 101, was also present in Vadaj. Many elderly voters arrived at the polling places in wheelchairs or with the assistance of family members. Until 11 a.m., 14. districts have seen about 19.17% of eligible voters cast ballots. The district with the highest turnout, Chhotaudepur, recorded 23.33 percent of the vote. Sabarkantha came in second with 22.20 percent, followed by Banaskantha (21.10), Aravalli (20.84%), and Mehsana (20.73%).
