The plots auction for the historic Balijatra will be conducted today from 11 am to 5 pm where a person can take maximum 3 plots. The Balijatra will commence on November 8 and will continue till to November 16. For plot booking log on to www.baliyatra.org or www.cuttack.nic.in.
The registration for the land allotment began on October 8 and finished yesterday, according to the official reports. A fee of Rs 5,000 (Rupees Five Thousand) must be paid by the applicant to register the plot at the Balijatra field for allotment. According to information obtained, 1,400 plots will be distributed to small, medium, and large-scale business houses so they can do trade during the renowned Balijatra festival.
Some aspiring businesspeople have claimed that while a hefty fee has been paid for registration for allocation, elderly traders who have been operating stores at Balijatra for a long time are not given precedence. The district administration has asserted that total openness is upheld throughout every step of the plot allocation procedure. Additionally, the administration has guaranteed that no small business owner would be put off.
The festival was not organised for the last two years due to an increase in Covid-19 cases in the state.
