PM Modi announces Sudha Murty’s nomination to the Rajya Sabha

Author and philanthropist Sudha Murty was nominated to the Rajya Sabha by President Droupadi Murmu on Friday.Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Friday that President Droupadi Murmu has nominated author and philanthropist Sudha Murty to the Rajya Sabha. With congratulations, Prime Minister Modi said that Sudha Murty had made “immense and inspiring” contributions to a variety of sectors.

“I am thrilled that @SmtSudhaMurtyJi has been nominated to the Rajya Sabha by the President of India.” Sudha Ji has made enormous and inspirational contributions to a variety of sectors, such as social work, philanthropy, and education. Her participation in the Rajya Sabha is a tremendous example of our nation’s “Nari Shakti,” demonstrating the strength and potential of women in determining the future of our country. On X, the erstwhile Twitter platform, Prime Minister Modi tweeted, “Wishing her a fruitful Parliamentary tenure.”Another work of literature that Sudha Murthy is well-known for is “Dollar Bahu,” which she wrote in Kannada before translating it into English. In 2001, Zed TV adapted the novel into a dramatic series. Additionally, she wrote the narrative “Runa,” which was made into a Marathi movie.
