PM Modi Launches Key Healthcare Initiatives In Odisha

In a virtual event from New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled three major healthcare initiatives in Odisha. Modi laid the cornerstone for the Central Research Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy in Binjhagiri, Khordha district, opened a Critical Care Center in Bargarh, and opened the Central Drugs Testing Laboratory in Gothapatna, close to Bhubaneswar.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi emphasized the significance of the new laboratory during a program held in Gothapatna, stating in an official press release that it is evidence of the Central Government’s dedication to the development of Odisha. He commended the construction of this cutting-edge facility, pointing out that it will speed up quality control and drug testing. Odisha used to rely on out-of-state labs for drug testing, but the new facility will allow for quicker and more effective testing, which will benefit the public by giving them better access to high-quality medications.

For building a facility that would benefit the entire country from Odisha, the Chief Minister thanked the Prime Minister and the Central Government. Chief Minister Majhi described Prime Minister Modi’s announcement of an extension of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana for residents over 70 as a “Diwali gift” for seniors of all economic levels. He praised the Prime Minister for transforming the healthcare industry with Ayushman Bharat, the largest health insurance program in the world that provides coverage to almost 50 crore people.
