“Respectful tributes to the renowned scientist and former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam ji on his birth anniversary. His vision and thoughts will greatly contribute to achieving the goal of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India),” PM Modi wrote, sharing a video montage of photos featuring moments with Dr. Kalam.
In his tribute, PM Modi highlighted Dr. Kalam’s natural ease and simplicity, emphasizing his inclination to embrace challenges rather than shy away from them. “There are two types of people in this world: those who look for opportunities and those who look for challenges. Abdul Kalam always sought challenges,” the Prime Minister said, noting how this defining trait shaped Dr. Kalam’s extraordinary life.
PM Modi also reflected on Dr. Kalam’s rare distinction of being recognized as a “Rashtra Ratna” (Jewel of the Nation) before serving as the Rashtrapati (President) of India. “This distinction speaks volumes about the extraordinary life and accomplishments of Abdul Kalam,” he added.
Recalling a personal memory, PM Modi shared an instance where Dr. Kalam was asked how he wished to be remembered. “He simply replied, ‘I would like to be remembered as a teacher.’ This response reflected his deep respect for the teaching profession and highlighted his lifelong dedication to nurturing the next generation,” the Prime Minister said.
Concluding his tribute, PM Modi affirmed the nation’s commitment to upholding the values and teachings of Dr. Kalam. “With Abdul Kalam’s blessings, we will strive to achieve the goals set by his teachings. This will be the greatest tribute to him,” the Prime Minister remarked.
Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, fondly remembered as the “People’s President,” continues to inspire generations with his visionary leadership, humility, and dedication to education and science.
