PM Modi Talks About Cuttack Tea Seller Prakash Rao In 100th Episode of Mann Ki Baat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to D Prakash Rao, also known as the “Chai Wala” of Cuttack, in the one hundredth edition of the radio program “Maan Ki Baat” on Sunda.

On January 13, 2021, Rao, a well-known social activist, fell suddenly while receiving treatment for Covid-19. Since December 25, he has been receiving treatment at the SCB Covid Hospital. In 2019, he was given the prestigious Padma Shri award for giving Cuttack City’s slum kids free education.

The PM honored a number of national heroes in addition to Rao.
