Orange Warning For Heavy Rain, Thunderstorms In 10 Odisha Districts

An orange weather warning was issued for today’s heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning in 10 districts of Odisha by the regional office of the India Meteorological Department in this location on Sunday. Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Balangir, Nuapada, Kalahandi, and Nabarangpur will all encounter rain and thunderstorms today. Today is likely to have heavy rain in one or two locations in the districts of Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, and Sundergarh. The weather service also forecasted that there may be hailstorms in some of these locations.

Meanwhile, the effects of Kalbaisakhi, which will last for the next four days, have caused widespread rain and thunder and lightning in some parts of Odisha. On Sunday, it may rain more heavily. Most of coastal, interior, and western Odisha are likely to experience rain and thunderstorms today. For 13 districts, the MeT has issued a yellow rain and lightning warning. The likelihood of gusty winds at a speed of 40–50 kmph is high in these areas.

A high-pressure system is present across Odisha and the coastal regions, and a low-pressure line runs from southern Chhattisgarh to the Arabian Sea. As a result, the state is receiving an adequate amount of water vapor. The MeT predicted that there won’t be a substantial shift in temperature over the following four days.
