It is a very proud and historic day for India. The Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi has been conferred the highest civilian award by the government of Bhutan. PM Modi will receive the Ngadag Pel gi Khorlo, the Bhutanese government said in a statement.
“Overjoyed to hear His Majesty pronounce Your Excellency Modiji’s Narendra Modi name for the highest civilian decoration, Ngadag Pel gi Khorlo,” a tweet from Prime Minister of Bhutan read.

In a Facebook post, the PMO Bhutan said, “HM highlighted all the unconditional friendship and support Modiji extended over the years and particularly during the pandemic. Much deserving! Congratulations from the people of Bhutan. In all interactions, seen Your Excellency as a great, spiritual human being. Looking forward to celebrating the honour in person.”
