The 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) was a success, with many Pravasi Bharatiyas expressing pleasure with the treatment they received from the Odisha government and its personnel, as well as the hospitality of the Odisha people. He emphasized that a comprehensive post-event study was not yet possible. He stated that the Pravasi Bharatiyas who came to Odisha for this occasion were satisfied with the welcome they got.
“The Pravasi Bharatiyas were happy with the way the Odisha government treated them. They also expressed excitement about the upcoming ‘Utkarsh Odisha’ event, scheduled for January 28-29, in Bhubaneswar. During this event, the public will learn more about the MoUs signed and the investment projects that are being grounded,” said KV Singh Deo.
“Though the PBD has just concluded, the interest shown by the Pravasi Bharatiyas, especially their discussions with officials about potential investments, has been encouraging. The real details about MoUs and projects will be shared during the Utkarsh Odisha event,” he added.
KV Singh Deo also emphasised the importance of the Pravasi Bharatiya platform, which serves as an important space for the Indian diaspora to connect and engage with each other. He referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Ghar Wapsi,’ where Indians working abroad, using their expertise and investments, are encouraged to return to India. The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas continues to serve as a bridge between the Indian diaspora and the nation, strengthening ties and fostering collaboration for India’s future growth.
