A strong heatwave is quite likely to hit areas of Odisha in the month of May. It will be warmer than usual almost everywhere. In East India and Central East India, the daytime temperature would be higher than average, according to the IMD’s forecast. In parts of West Central and North West India, the daytime temperature will be average or below normal. In various areas of North West and East India, nighttime temperatures are anticipated to be above average. The heat wave will affect Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, eastern Uttar Pradesh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, northern Chhattisgarh, eastern Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, and northern Gujarat, including Odisha.
While most of India can expect normal rainfall in May, the Met department warned that North West India could see above average precipitation. Up to May 2, there may be rain in various regions of the state. According to the IMD, Saturday is anticipated to see heavy rain in several areas of the State.
It’s possible to see lightning and thundershowers in the districts of Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Balangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundergarh, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj.
