President Murmu Hosts Banquet For Visiting Sri Lankan Counterpart At Rashtrapati Bhavan

According to an official, President Droupadi Murmu met Anura Kumara Dissanayake, her visiting colleague from Sri Lanka, at Rashtrapati Bhavan here on Monday. President Murmu also threw a banquet in honor of the visiting dignitary from Sri Lanka, according to an official release. “Welcoming President Disanayaka and his delegation to Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President congratulated him for his victory in the recent Presidential and Parliamentary elections in Sri Lanka,” the President’s Secretariat stated in a statement. Sri Lanka is a key component of India’s “Neighbourhood First” policy and SAGAR Vision, according to President Murmu.

The President went on to say that India would continue to assist the Sri Lankan government in its endeavors to promote the sustainable economic growth of the neighboring island nation, as it is a close and reliable ally. According to the release, President Murmu expressed his satisfaction that the Joint release adopted today demonstrates both nations’ dedication to advancing their complex bilateral relationship. According to the president, India’s engagement with Sri Lanka for comprehensive development assistance is founded on the needs and goals of the neighboring nation.

President Murmu further said he was certain that India’s investment-led policies would support stability and economic revival. The President further emphasized that a core and treasured component of our bilateral relationship is the historical connections between our peoples.
