On Friday, President Droupadi Murmu traveled to the Similipal Tiger Reserve and went on a safari to view the national park’s wildlife and vegetation. On Thursday night, Murmu spent the night at her Rairangpur home while on a three-day visit to her native district of Mayurbhanj in Odisha. Despite the fact that she was supposed to remain at a government bungalow in Rairangpur, she took advantage of the opportunity to spend time with her family and other relatives at her own home.
On the second day of her trip, she began by presenting flowers to former president Giani Zail Singh at Rairangpur on the occasion of his birth anniversary. On the occasion of the anniversary of his birth, she also paid respects to Pandit Raghunath Murmu, the Santhali language’s creator of the Ol Chiki script, at his hometown of Dandabosh village.
She then went to the Similipal Tiger Reserve. She went to Chahala in the central region, where she was fed food by the local tribe, and after that she went on safari to view deer, sambhar, and elephants. The President also went to Barehipani and Joranda waterfalls. She is currently in Baripada after arriving from Similipal, where she will spend the night. The President will travel return to Delhi on Saturday after attending Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University’s convocation.
