President Ram Nath Kovind Condemns Violence On Republic Day

President Ram Nath Kovind strongly commended the violence during the Farmer’s tractor parade on Republic Day and also defended the three Farm’s Law.

On Republic Day the farmers violently protested during the Farmer’s tractor parade, and many public means of transport were damaged, and also many police personnel were injured. President Ram Nath Kovid strongly defended the three contentious Agricultural laws and also slammed as “‘very unfortunate” the violence. He also stated that the new Agricultural laws have immediately benefited ten crores, small farmers.

On the first day of the Budget session, President Kovind presented his customary address to the joining sitting of Parliament and stated that the insult to the tricolour and Republic Day during the 26th January protest was very unfortunate.

He further claimed that if the Constitution gives us the right to freedom of expression, it also teaches us to make laws and rules seriously, he said in his address that was boycotted by over 20 opposition parties in support of the demand of protesting farmers that the three laws be repealed.

He also stated that the Central Government would respect whatever the decision of the Supreme Court. Recently the apex court has put the implementation of the three Agricultural laws on hold. President also highlighted the view of the Government approved by the Union Cabinet in his address.

Congress MP Ravneet Singh Bittu also raised slogans like ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’ during his address and demanded the three laws’ repeal. Some opposition MPs were heard raising slogans in the Central Hall’s gallery.
