While the Odisha’s Municipal Elections is just a few days away, every candidate from their various political party are aggressively campaigning for their victory. However, some unfortunate ones are facing the protest of the public who are in agony. Same has happened with BJP Minsiter Pratap Jena.
Pratap Jena was contesting for Phulbani Municipality while campaigning for BJD’s Chairman candidate for councillor aspirant Rajendra Padhi from ward number 8 of the municipal segment.
However, while contesting, he faced stiff opposition from the people who were not happy with how the ruling party has treated the region over a long period of time. Locals of the area were seemingly unhappy over government apathy and inaction by public representatives in addressing various problems pertaining to drinking water, drainage and basic amenities.
“We have always been fooled by the local public representatives who come with rosy promises during campaigning but never fulfil them after getting the mandate of people. This time, we will not let that happen,” said a protestor.
“There is obviously some public angst as some leaders who were earlier elected by the people have not fulfilled the demands of people. This is not such a big issue but yes we will ensure that the problems are solved soon,” said Jena.
