In a significant development, the Punjab Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) has arrested Sukhchain Singh alias Bhujia, an associate of foreign-based terrorist Lakhbir Singh alias Landa Harike. The arrest was made on Thursday in the Bhikhi area of Mansa following reliable intelligence inputs.
Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav confirmed that the accused, a resident of Matti village in Mansa, had a criminal history with charges including attempt to murder, Arms Act, and NDPS Act. Police recovered a .32-calibre pistol with five cartridges from his possession.
The DGP further revealed that Sukhchain Singh was wanted in a recent attempt to murder case in Bhikhi. The arrest comes under the supervision of ADGP (AGTF) Promod Ban.”The arrest of Sukhchain Singh marks a significant breakthrough in the ongoing efforts of Punjab Police to dismantle terrorist networks and combat criminal activities in the region. Singh’s connection to the notorious terrorist Lakhbir Singh alias Landa Harike, who is based overseas, underscores the expanding reach of such criminal groups. Authorities are now investigating Singh’s potential involvement in other criminal activities linked to terrorist factions, as well as the origin and purpose of the firearm recovered during his arrest.
