The Jagannath temple here will be opened for the general public from February 1, Collector Samarth Verma informed today following the meeting of the Chattisa Nijog in the afternoon.
The temple will remain closed on Sundays for sanitisation purposes, while the SOPs such as verification of double dose vaccination certificate or RTPCR report (72 hours prior to entry) will be strictly followed.
Local people of Puri can enter the temple through the West Gate, and people from outside Puri will have access from the East Gate or Singhdwar, the Collector informed.
A detailed guideline will be issued by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) on reopening of the temple for devotees soon, he added.
