West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose has strongly denied any molestation allegations made by a Raj Bhavan staff member. There have been several contentious exchanges between the elected state administration and the governor at Kolkata’s Raj Bhavan. Too many times, chief minister Mamata Banerjee and previous governor Jagdeep Dhankhar engaged in verbal sparring and disagreements over decisions, some of which were made public through open confrontation and correspondence. The Raj Bhavan in Kolkata was once again in the news late on Thursday, but for all the wrong reasons. West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose has strongly denied any molestation allegations made by an employee.
Prior to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day visit to the state, the assertion has been made. According to protocol, the PM will be hosted at the governor’s house. The claim has made relations between Raj Bhavan and the state government even more tense. Bose is accused by the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of using his position to “torture a woman” and calling it “shameful.”
As expected, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has denied the accusation and characterised it as a political smear. In November 2022, Bose—a former bureaucrat—was named governor.Dilip Ghosh, a BJP leader, attacked the TMC, stating that “this is nothing new.” This is the politics of TMC. I have no idea how low they will go. The woman, a contract employee at the Raj Bhavan, reportedly told the police that the Governor had “molested her at least twice in his chamber since April 24,” according to HT.In a Raj Bhavan declaration, Bose declared that “truth shall triumph.” Storylines that are contrived to intimidate me will not win. God bless everyone who wants to criticise me in order to get an advantage in the election. However, they are powerless to stop me from fighting Bengali brutality and corruption.
