After colliding head-on with Rani Panda’s car, a famous opera (Jatra) performer, a young man was killed. Sukant Behera, a native of the Cuttack district’s Rajanagar village and within the jurisdiction of the Athagarh police, has been named as the deceased.
Reportedly, Panda was on her way to Dudurkote village in the Dhenkanal district to perform at an opera when the accident occurred at Dalkhai square on Mundali-Athagarh road on Friday night. Seriously injured Behera was rushed to the SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack where he breathed his last today morning.
Panda’s vehicle was also damaged in the accident. On getting information, Athagarh Police rushed to the spot. Panda and the driver was taken to Athagarh Police Station for further questioning in connection with the incident.
