Ranji Trophy Confirmed: To Be Played In Two Halves

The BCCI was inimmense pressure since it delayed this year Tanji Trophy due to COVID third wave. The prime red ball state level tournament of India is essential as it has given born to great cricketing legends over a course of decades. However, since the advent of COVID, BCCI have been keep on postponing the Ranji Trophy, thereby getting many criticism from the cricket pundits.

However, after cancelling Ranji Trophy for last season and postponing indefinitely this season, BCCI have finally confirmed the marquee state level tournament. This time Ranji Trophy will be played in two halves, the league level matches will be played before the IPL and the knockouts will be played after the IPL.

Jay Shah BCCI secretary said, “I write to you to apprise you all that the decks have been cleared and we are set to conduct the Ranji Trophy 2021-22 season shortly,” wrote Shah in a letter to the state associations. My team at the BCCI has worked on a structure where we will conduct the Ranji Trophy this season in two phases. The first phase will begin soon and will comprise the league matches while the knockout leg will be held in the month of June.”
