Appointed as CEO of Cognizant in January 2023, Kumar brought with him over two decades of experience in technology consulting, having previously served as President at Infosys. His leadership at Cognizant has been marked by a strategic emphasis on integrating artificial intelligence across the company’s operations and offerings. Recognizing AI as a “double engine of transformation,” Kumar has championed its dual role in enhancing internal efficiencies and delivering cutting-edge solutions to clients.
Under his guidance, Cognizant launched the Synapse initiative in 2024, aiming to train one million individuals globally in emerging technologies by 2026, with a significant focus on AI and India.
