West Bengal minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Partha Chatterjee and his accused colleague Arpita Mukherjee were detained in connection with the school employment scandal and placed in ED custody till August 3.On Wednesday, Bhattacharya was questioned.Partha Chatterjee was taken to Kolkata from Odisha on Tuesday morning, after approval from AIIMS Bhubaneswar on Monday. Chatterjee was immediately escorted to the ED office at the CGO building in Kolkata and questioned.According to sources, the ED found a large sum of money totaling Rs 15 crore from Mukherjee’s second apartment in Kolkata. Four counting machines were taken to Mukherjee’s flat in Belgharia, indicating that the sum recovered may be greater than the earlier recovery of Rs 21 crore in cash from one of her home locations. These equipment were delivered from the SBI Regional Headquarters in Kolkata.

According to sources, the ED took gold jewellery, gold bars, property deeds, and property-related papers in addition to cash.Meanwhile, amid rising opposition calls for the industry minister’s ouster from the state cabinet, Chatterjee’s government automobile, which he had used for over 15 years, was lodged with the West Bengal Asylum Department on Tuesday..
